Five stars for the new Passat: top marks for best-selling model in Euro NCAP safety assessment
The new Passat has been awarded the top rating of five stars in the renowned Euro NCAP (European New Car Assessment Programme) consumer protection programme. This makes the vehicle one of the best-rated mid-sized models of 2024 in the independent European testing body’s overall ranking. After 2010 and 2014, the completely newly developed Passat also receives the highest award from Euro NCAP. -
ChatGPT is now available in many Volkswagen models
Volkswagen models featuring the new-generation infotainment system are now also equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) of ChatGPT. The AI-based research tool is available in all new vehicles in the all-electric ID. family, as well as in the new Golf, new Tiguan and new Passat. It can be accessed using the IDA voice assistant and offers a range of new options that go far beyond the voice control previously available. For example, customers can now have search results read out to them, and can interact with the car using natural language. -
New Tiguan awarded 5 stars in current Euro NCAP safety assessment
Euro NCAP, the renowned European consumer protection programme, has awarded the new Tiguan the highest rating of five stars for safety. This means the third generation of the best-selling model is officially one of the safest vehicles in its class. The Volkswagen scored particularly well in the category of child occupant protection. This rating is all the more important as the Tiguan, which has sold well over 7.6 million units, is an ideal all-rounder for families.

The new ID.7 GTX and ID.7 GTX Tourer - International Media Drive
They are the two new flagship models of the ID.7 product line and the Volkswagen ID. family: the ID.7 GTX saloon and the ID.7 GTX Tourer estate car. Both electric vehicles are united by a highly dynamic drive performance. One electric drive motor on both the front and rear axles merge on board the ID.7 GTX and ID.7 GTX Tourer to form the electric 4MOTION all-wheel drive. System power: 250 kW (340 PS). No other saloon or estate car from Volkswagen currently offers higher performance. The ID.7 GTX Tourer is also the most powerful Volkswagen estate ever built. It passes the 100 km/h mark in just 5.5 seconds. The saloon even completes the classic starting sprint a touch faster, namely in 5.4 seconds. The fascinating character of both GTX models is defined in particular by the noticeable punch with which full power is delivered from one second to the next. The exterior and interior are enhanced by GTX details such as distinctive bumpers and seats. The range of standard equipment has been expanded significantly: the GTX features include new 20-inch Skagen aluminium wheels, IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights, 3D LED tail light clusters and illuminated Volkswagen logos at the front and rear. -
The new ID. CODE - World premiere
With the world premiere of the ID. CODE at Auto China 2024 in Beijing, Volkswagen is providing a first glimpse of a completely new SUV generation, a new design language for China and a new technology generation. The concept car was developed specifically for Volkswagen customers in China. With the ID. The newly designed living space on board the ID. CODE fits perfectly into this picture – here, the real and virtual worlds combine to create a new mobility experience. The electrically powered concept car can be driven conventionally and also used autonomously at Level 4. The ID. The new Passat - International Media Drive
A class of its own. The Volkswagen Passat is a global bestseller. To date, more than 34 million units have been delivered to almost every country in the world. An ongoing success – even five decades after its debut, the Passat is currently one of the three best-selling Volkswagens internationally alongside the Tiguan and Polo (with their derivatives). In Europe, it has always been a steady long-term seller, especially as the Variant. Since 2022, Volkswagen has therefore exclusively offered the Passat as an estate version between the North Cape and Gibraltar. And with resounding success. In Germany, for example, the Passat Variant was topped the rankings in the mid-sized class in 2023, with 45,494 new registrations. The secret to its success is the fact that the Passat Variant is two cars in one – a business class vehicle and a family all-rounder at the same time. Now, a brand-new Passat Variant is being launched that has been developed from scratch. And this time, it is breaking down class boundaries. Even though the Passat Variant – now in its ninth generation – is priced (from 39,995 euros) in the mid-sized class, its new size, new quality standard and new innovative power mean it can cater to the next segment up.
