Upgrade for the ID.4 and ID.5: new infotainment system with intuitive operation, new electric drive with more power and efficiency
Volkswagen is launching pre-sales for the enhanced ID.4 and ID.5 models. The two electric models will now be offered with a brand new generation of infotainment system and software. In addition, all Pro and GTX versions will feature a new drive system. The high-efficiency drive introduced for the first time for the large ID.7 offers significantly more power together with reduced energy consumption. The combined WLTP range of the ID.4 as a versatile electric SUV is increased to up to 550 kilometres(1) (WLTP) thanks to the new electric drive. The spacious ID.5 SUV coupé will have a range of up to 556 kilometres(1) (WLTP) on one battery charge. Volkswagen offers the optimized models at the same base prices as their predecessors. The price-performance ratio of the ID.4 and ID.5 has thus been significantly improved. -
New drive for the all-electric ID. family: more performance and higher efficiency
The next electric drive generation for the ID. family is now being launched. With the new APP550 rear-wheel drive, Volkswagen’s electric model family will receive a completely newly developed power unit. In future, this will offer higher performance combined with improved efficiency for the ID. models. The ID. family will therefore benefit both in terms of power and increased range. Volkswagen is planning to deliver the first vehicles with the new drive generation in a 210 kW (286 PS) version from the end of the year. -
Volkswagen makes the interior of the ID. models even more sustainable
Volkswagen is making the all-electric ID. family even more sustainable – including the choice of materials for the interior. During the course of this year, the ID.3, ID.4, ID.5 and ID.7 will receive selected innovations that were first used in mass production in the ID. Buzz. As one example of this, VW uses Seaqual® yarn as a seat cover material. This is made from 10 per cent collected marine debris and 90 per cent recycled PES yarn. The CO2 emissions from production are almost one third lower than for conventional cover materials.
