The T-Cross is a versatile, practical and flexible addition to Volkswagen’s SUV family. Its independent design, transformable interior and extensive range of equipment make it an attractive option within the small vehicle segment. At market launch, customers can choose from two turbocharged engines with displacement of 1.0 litres. The two three-cylinder engines with 70 kW / 95 hp and 85 kW / 110 hp respectively guarantee dynamic, yet efficient movement.The power is transferred to the front wheels. While the 70 kW / 95 hp variant features a five-speed manual transmission, the stronger variant offers a choice between a six-speed manual transmission and a 7-speed dual clutch transmission.

Volkswagen expects an SUV share of 50% by 2025
Volkswagen continues with the largest SUV offensive in the company’s history. By 2025, every second Volkswagen passenger cars sold throughout the world will probably be an SUV. This already applies to every fifth car sold now. The brand expects especially strong growth in SUV sales in North and South America, as well as in China. By 2025, Volkswagen will be offering more than 30 SUV models throughout the world. The new T-Cross – “I am safe”: standard Pedestrian Monitoring will make the city safer
Volkswagen is set to unveil the new T-Cross for the first time in a trailer entitled “I am safe”, two weeks ahead of the world première of the new SUV. At the end of the 14-second clip, the most compact of all Volkswagen Sport Utility Vehicles (SUV) automatically activates emergency braking via the City Emergency Braking System, including Pedestrian Monitoring, to protect a distracted smartphone user who walks out into the road. “I am safe” is one of four focus areas that describe the most important properties of the T-Cross. Thus, the plant, which is producing the Polo since 1984, will build a second model for the first time in its history. -
