Volkswagen reveals new T-Cross: major update for the successful compact SUV
Despite the extensive enhancements, the new T-Cross will still be offered at a very attractive base price. The production of the bestseller in its current version is already sold out in many European markets for 2023 and will be available in Germany for a short time. New vehicles that Volkswagen customers configure and order after the final sales based on the current model will already be part of the new T-Cross generation when they are delivered in the first quarter of 2024. Volkswagen is therefore giving customers and media an early glimpse of this major T-Cross update.

The new T-Cross Style exudes stylish elegance, while the T-Cross R-Line underlines its sporty character with its R-design bumpers.
The extended infotainment equipment of the two top models include a touch display with a diagonal of 23.4 cm (9.2 inches), the 25.4 cm Digital Cockpit Pro (10 inches), App-Connect for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (Wireless & Wired) and a mobile phone interface. Both versions are powered as standard by the 85 kW TSI engine (with seven-speed DSG). The T-Cross Style is available in Germany from 29,465 euros, the T-Cross R-Line from 30,740 euros.
Brand Group Core boosts vehicle sales, sales revenue and result – restructuring costs have adverse impact
This figure was buoyed especially by high demand for the models in the ID. family, the SUVs T-Cross and T-Roc as well as the newly launched Tayron. At 63.8 billion euros, sales revenues grew by 0.4% compared with the same prior-year period (63.5 billion euros). The operating result rose to 1.48 billion euros (previous year: 1.28 billion euros) while the operating return increased to 2.3% (previous year: 2.0%). Cost reductions from the “Zukunft Volkswagen” program had a positive effect while the operating result was negatively impacted by special items arising from the US import tariffs, restructuring costs and the ramp up of lower-margin electric vehicles. Without these special items, the operating margin of the Volkswagen brand after nine months would have been 4.0%.

The Chinese version of the T-Roc from FAW Volkswagen has been available since summer. It distinguishes itself with a wheelbase extended by 85 mm as compared with the European model. Brand Group Core improves sales revenue and achieves progress in cost efficiency
The main reasons are the introduction of a new generation of T models, a generally challenging and in some cases shrinking market for light commercial vehicles and provisions in connection with CO₂ fleet regulations in Europe.

In the first half of 2025, the Brand Group Core continued its successful development and benefited from an attractive product range that was further rejuvenated. Especially high capacity utilization at the plants and the targeted optimization of production processes brought additional efficiency gains. Demand for models such as the Polo, Tiguan, T-Cross, T-Roc, Golf, Tiguan, Passat and Tayron continued at a high level, while all-electric models, especially the ID.3 and ID.4, as well as the Formentor, Elroq and Envaq, proved to be growth drivers. The unit sales of the Volkswagen Brand remained at the prior-year level as a result of lower third-party production within the Volkswagen Group.
