    Sharan launches with new engines and extensive networking features

    Ten key facts about the new Sharan: 1. New TSI and TDI engines up to 14.3 per cen more fuel efficientt; the most efficient model consumes just 5.0 l/100 km. 2. All engines (115 to 220 PS) fulfil the Euro-6 standard. 3. Completely new array of infotainment systems. 4. Perfectly networked with 'Android Auto™' (Google), 'CarPlay™' (Apple), 'MirrorLink™' and 'Volkswagen Car-Net'. 5. Thanks to Blind Spot Monitor (optionally linked to Lane Assist), Rear Traffic Alert and Automatic Post-Collision Braking System even safer. 6. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Front Assist with City Emergency Braking are available in the Sharan for the first time. 7. New LED rear lights and 16-inch alloy wheels. 8. Interior is upgraded with higher quality trim and materials, plus enhanced instrumentation. 9. The launch in Europe starts in mid-July (w/c 13th July). 10.     Volkswagen presents the new Touran

    Volkswagen presents the new Touran. The completely redesigned MPV was showcased before an audience of international media representatives at the Autostadt in Wolfsburg, not far from the production site where the popular family car is made. The interior of the new model has undergone a significant increase in size and is highly configurable. Refinements have been made all around the vehicle, which boasts a range of six new economical engines and an extensive line-up of assistance and infotainment systems. The public premiere of the new Touran will take place in the coming week at the Geneva motor show.

    Show premiere – Sharan to launch with technical update

    Ten key facts about the technical update of the Sharan: 1. The Sharan is launching with a completely new engine range 2. The new TSI and TDI engines of the Sharan provide an increase in fuel efficiency of up to 15 per cent; all engines conform to the Euro-6 standard 3. New Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Traffic Alert enhance vehicle safety 4. New range of infotainment systems, now with Android Auto (Google), CarPlay (Apple) and MirrorLink™ 5. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Front Assist with City Emergency Braking are available in the Sharan for the first time ever 6. The new Automatic Post-Collision Braking system is now fitted as standard, as is an Auto Hold function for the electronic parking brake 7. The Sharan makes its debut with new LED rear lights and new alloy wheels 8. Interior is upgraded with more sophisticated accents and materials as well as enhanced instrumentation. 9. European market launch of the Sharan begins in July with advance sales starting in Germany in April. 10.     North American International Auto Show in Detroit: World premiere of the Cross Coupé GTE

This year, Volkswagen's presentation is focusing on the striking Cross Coupé GTE. With the world premiere of the five-seater SUV concept car, the carmaker from Wolfsburg is offering a further preview of the latest SUV model series that is fitted with a sporty and economical V6 plug-in hybrid drive for the first time.

    Coupé concept car debuts with world premiere in Beijing: New Midsize Coupé combines the worlds of saloons and sports cars

    Ten key facts relating to the world premiere of the New Midsize Coupé: 1. Design of New Midsize Coupé gives an initial look at how Volkswagen Design envisions a sport sedan positioned below the Passat. 2. Dynamic design of New Midsize Coupé combines the worlds of saloons and sports cars. 3. New Midsize Coupé is appreciably wider than the Passat, but shorter than the Jetta. 4. The New Midsize Coupé is a four-door car with plenty of space for five people and luggage capacity of 500 litres. 5. New Midsize Coupé creates fusion of A and B segments. 6. Wide track in the style of a sports car with 20-inch alloy wheels and low profile 245 tyres. 7. Coupé shows off newly conceived LED headlights. 8. The New Midsize Coupé is powered by a 162 kW / 220 PS direct injection turbocharged engine. Fuel consumption: 6.4 litres per 100 km. 9.     World Premiere of Rallycross-Beetle in Chicago

    Volkswagen Beetle will enter motorsports in the U.S. this summer. At the Chicago Auto Show today, Volkswagen of America presents the Rallycross-Beetle with all-wheel-drive and a TSI engine that delivers more than 560 hp (412 kW).

    In a nutshell: The EcoRacer

    At the Tokyo Motor Show (22 October to 6 November) Volkswagen are presenting a prototype that could well make history as the most economical the sports car of its time. Its basic data: average fuel consumption of 3.4 litres for 100 km, a top speed of 230 kph. Its name: EcoRacer. Thanks to its carbon-fibre (CFP) bodywork, this sports car with its centrally located engine weighs in at only 850 kilograms, and accelerates from 0 to 100 kph in just 6.3 seconds. Powered by a newly developed 100-kW turbo-charged diesel of the next generation, it offers a forward-looking synthesis of austere economy and impressive performance. 230 kph, 6.3 seconds, 3.4 litres – these vital statistics are as unusual as they are fascinating. But the objective of development was not to break records. With the EcoRacer, the intention was rather to create a research vehicle that united the elements of economy and performance under a very emotionally styled “roof”.
