A tradition of success.
The first Golf Variant was launched in 1992, and since then Volkswagen has sold more than three million units of its estate. The current Golf Variant is a good 4.60 metres long and offers a generous luggage compartment capacity of 1,642 litres when the rear seat backrests are folded down. Its eye-catching design clearly underlines its character: it is sporty, practical and progressive, and the operating concept is almost completely digitalised. A wide range of drive systems are available, including diesel, petrol and mild hybrid powertrains. Volkswagen also offers the Golf Variant as an Alltrack model. This vehicle ensures that its passengers reach their destination even on difficult terrain thanks to features such as all-wheel drive, increased ground clearance, underbody protection and a 147 kW (200 PS) TDI engine.

Powerful estate with all-round talent – the new Golf R Estate
The new Golf R Estate is Volkswagen’s most powerful and dynamic Golf Estate so far. Sportiness meets everyday practicality. Top performance meets flexibility, with a spacious interior. The 235-kW (320-PS) Golf R Estate remains true to the tradition of its predecessors: a flexible all-rounder, comfortable leisure and family estate, and a sporty companion with impressive dynamics – thanks in part to the 4MOTION all-wheel drive system, including R Performance torque vectoring with wheel-selective torque control on the rear axle. -
The new Golf R Estate: more power, more driving dynamics, more emotions, more space
With 235 kW (320 PS), the new Golf R Estate is the most powerful and dynamic Golf Estate to date. More power and driving dynamics, numerous innovations, more space and strong emotions: this is what makes the new Golf R Estate better than ever before. The standard 4MOTION all-wheel drive with R Performance Torque Vectoring is powered by a 2.0 TSI engine with a maximum torque of 420 Nm. Power is transmitted via an R-specific 7-speed dual clutch gearbox. It sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h. With the optional R Performance package, a top speed of 270 km/h is possible. The package also includes 19-inch wheels and the additional driving modes Special (Nürburgring mode) and Drift (for power slides). A host of assist systems and the latest-generation Infotainment system guarantee even more safety, comfort and convenience.
