    “Mille Miglia Green”: new e-up! starts at the first e-mobility edition of the famous contest

    The Mille Miglia is without doubt one of the most legendary classic car rallies worldwide. The “Mille Miglia Green” is a completely new event that borrows the original idea of long-distance racing – but only electric and hybrid vehicles are permitted to compete. The first edition of the competition starts next weekend (27–29 September). Just like the traditional event for classic models, it starts in Brescia – and the new e-up! with increased range will be taking part, as well as two electrified e-Beetles.

    IAA 2019: Volkswagen launches the breakthrough for electric vehicles with the ID.3’s world premiere

    The future is rarely as tangible as at the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt: the new ID.3 from Volkswagen – the first fully electric production car of the all-new ID. family. Its base price will be less than €30,000. The ID.3 has the potential to usher in a new era of large-scale electric mobility production. “The ID.3 is the world’s first electric car with a CO2-neutral footprint. Consequently, it is making its mark: for innovative technology, for the freedom of individual mobility and for climate protection”, Ralf Brandstätter, Chief Operating Officer of the Volkswagen Passenger Cars Brand, explained at IAA today.

    e-up! for everyone – new generation of the electric e-up! with a long range to be launched at a low price

    Volkswagen is making electric mobility affordable for everyone with the new e-up!. At €21,975 (minus subsidies) the base price is lower than that of the predecessor model. A particularly appealing offer will also be available upon the pre-sales launch: lease the e-up! at a monthly rate of only €159 excluding extra payments between 18 September and 31 October 2019 (in Germany). Increased range: thanks to a new battery system, the range of the e-up! has now increased to up to 260 km. It’s important to note that, despite its compact dimensions, the e-up! is a fully fledged vehicle for four occupants. It offers smart mobility and zero-emission driving for companies, company car drivers and private motorists.

    Volkswagen up! receives “Wertmeister 2019” award

    Fantastic award for Volkswagen: the city specialist up! TSI has won the “Wertmeister 2019” award (value champion) in the city car category. Each year, the automotive magazine AUTO BILD honors the vehicles with the most stable residual value in several vehicle segments. The award was presented to Holger B. Santel, Head of Sales and Marketing Germany, at a ceremony in Berlin yesterday evening.

    Destined to win: up!, Polo and Golf are the winners in the “Best Cars 2019” Reader’s Choice Awards

    The trade magazine auto motor und sport chose the winners of its “Best Cars 2019” Reader’s Choice Awards in Stuttgart today. Three models of the Volkswagen brand, the up!, Polo and Golf, were among the winners. The award, one of the top automotive awards of the year, was received by Volkswagen’s Brand Board of Management members Ralf Brandstätter (Chief Operating Officer), Dr Frank Welsch (Development) and Jürgen Stackmann (Sales, Marketing and After Sales).

    ADAC EcoTest 2018: e-Golf and e-up! are the best

    The e-Golf wins the ADAC EcoTest, proving it is one of the cleanest cars in 2018. Placing second was the fully electric e-up!, designed for city driving. Volkswagen’s two latest electric models thus claim one of the most coveted prizes for new vehicles. Introduced in 2003, the ADAC EcoTest is one of the toughest car emissions tests.

    Readers of auto motor und sport magazine have selected the Volkswagen up! GTI to receive the ‘autonis’ award for design excellence, with the model coming top of its category. Volkswagen tasted further success with the We Park parking app, which received the Car Connectivity Award during the event.

    AutomotiveINNOVATIONS Award 2018: Volkswagen honoured as the most innovative high-volume brand

    The Volkswagen brand has been named the Most Innovative High-volume Brand for the third time in a row. The Group’s core brand was also presented with other awards in the categories ‘Alternative Drives’, ‘Autonomous Driving’ and ‘Safety and Conventional Drives’. The awards are presented annually by the Center of Automotive Management (an independent scientific institute), in cooperation with audit firm PricewaterhouseCoopers. The award decisions are based on the study AutomotiveINNOVATIONS, a jointly conducted study that has been analysing the innovation profiles and future trends of various automotive brands for the past seven years within the context of technical vehicle innovations.

    International Engine of the Year 2018: the innovative 1.0 TSI in the new up! GTIwins the award in its category

    The innovative 1.0 TSI in the new up! GTI has been named International Engine of the Year 2018. In other words, the sustainable, yet powerful three-cylinder turbo engine has managed to win one of the most prestigious trophies in the world of engine manufacture. The award was bestowed by an international jury consisting of top journalists. For this year’s edition, the experts reviewed engines in 12 categories, with the 1.0 TSI holding off strong competition in its cubic capacity class (under 1.0 litre) to win.

    Golf, Polo and up! voted "Best Cars 2018"

    The readers of motoring magazine auto motor und sport have voted the Golf, the new Polo and the up! the "Best Cars 2018" in their respective categories. No less than three Volkswagen models thus secured one of the year's most important awards. They were presented this morning in Stuttgart to Dr Herbert Diess (Chairman of the Volkswagen Brand Board of Management), Dr Frank Welsch (Member of the Board of Management responsible for Development) and Jürgen Stackmann (Member of the Board of Management responsible for Sales, Marketing and Aftersales).

    Tiguan successful in Auto Bild Allrad readers' choice The readers of Auto Bild Allrad trade journal have made their decision and chosen the Tiguan as the "All-wheel Drive Car of the Year" in the "Off-road vehicle and SUV up to €30,000" category. The award for the popular all-rounder was given to Volkswagen yesterday evening in Frankfurt. The second generation of the Tiguan came onto the market last year and will soon be joined by the Tiguan Allspace. This has considerably more space – with the option for up to seven people – and offers impressive versatility and extended range of standard features.
