The up! is a cleverly designed city specialist. It is available with two or four doors and trim levels take up!, move up!, high up!, cross up!, up! GTI and up! beats (with sound system). There is also a model, the load up!, designed for commercial use. As an innovation in this class, the up! is not only available with gasoline engines but also with a natural gas-powered option (eco up!) and with an all-electric powertrain on the independent e-up! models. For many customers, Volkswagen's successful model served as their entry into e-mobility – not least of all because the city specialist offers extensive standard equipment, space for four people and an impressive range. To date, over 80,000 of this model of vehicle have been sold around the world, and in Germany it was in second place in 2021 for all-electric vehicles with the most new registrations.
