- Volkswagen is on track with electrification of its vehicle fleet. Since handing over the first ID.3 in September 2020, Volkswagen has already delivered more than half a million vehicles from the ID. family worldwide, and has therefore achieved an important milestone in implementation of its ACCELERATE strategy on its way to becoming a zero-emission, software-based mobility services provider.
- By as early as 2030, it is planned that at least 70 per cent of Volkswagen’s sales in Europe will come from all-electric vehicles. In the US and China, the company has set itself the goal of achieving an electric share of more than 50 per cent in the same period.
- Volkswagen offers the widest range of electric models: from the entry-level electric car with a target price of less than 25,000 euros to the new ID.7 saloon, the brand will have a suitable vehicle in every segment. The company is already launching ten new electric models by 2026.
- The main plant in Wolfsburg will be converted into a highly efficient plant for electric mobility in the coming years. In a first step, the company is investing about 460 million euros as part of this transformation.

With the ‘Goldene Lenkrad’ (The Golden Steering Wheel) award, the trade magazine AUTO BILD and the BILD am SONNTAG newspaper recognise outstanding new models every year. This year, the Volkswagen brand has achieved exceptional success and is the first manufacturer in the 49-year history of the Golden Steering Wheel to win in as many as four categories. The Golf GTI EDITION 50 prevails in the compact class against two electrically powered competitors, while the ID.7 GTX Tourer wins in the upper mid-size class against two models from German premium manufacturers. The new Tayron wins as the best family car against two SUVs from the Czech Republic and Sweden, and the new T-Roc, which will be available at dealerships from this week, receives the editorial prize as "Best car under 40,000 euros".

A bestseller becomes electric. Volkswagen has reinvented the Polo, a vehicle that has been sold more than 20 million times: 50 years after the debut of the first generation, the first electric version of the bestseller is ready to go with the new ID. With the world premiere of the ID. 2all, Volkswagen presented a concept vehicle for the first time based on the brand’s new design language. This visual language specifically transfers iconic design elements such as the legendary C-pillar of the first Golf into the near future and into new segments. Now the design team has transferred this new language to the concept vehicle of an electric Volkswagen entry-level model: the ID. EVERY1. The style and character of the smallest Volkswagen are shaped by the three central values of the new design language: stability, likeability and secret sauce. Volkswagen Head of Design Andreas Mindt: “The widely flared wheel housings over the large 19-inch wheels and the athletic and clearly designed surfaces of the silhouette ensure stability. The slightly cheeky smile at the front is a particularly likeable feature. A secret sauce element is the roof drawn in in the middle, as is usually known from sports cars.
