But it quickly became clear that the strawberry basket, as it was affectionately known, set new standards, became one of the most successful convertibles in the world, and even developed cult appeal – thanks to numerous film and TV appearances. And across generations. Well, well, well, the practical Golf as an emotional open-air version: a surprising idea that caught on magnificently.
