The ID.3 – pioneer of a new era

Intelligent, innovative and sustainable. With the ID.3 a new era of mobility at Volkswagen has started – intelligent, innovative and sustainable. The radically new design involves pioneering technologies. The ID.3 combines all the strengths of the modular electric drive matrix in a vehicle length of a just 4.26 meters – it offers plenty of space in the vehicle interior and the operating concept is intuitively simple. The high-voltage battery has been installed low down in the underbody, ensuring agile and nimble handling.

The interior is also revolutionary. The long wheelbase of the modular electric drive matrix layout and the very short overhangs result in a strikingly large vehicle interior – the Open Space sets new benchmarks in the compact vehicle category. Digital displays and controls make it easy to get your bearings behind the wheel. The ID. Light – an LED strip in the cockpit – visually communicates with passengers. The ID.3 is almost exclusively operated using touch-sensitive buttons and surfaces or the intelligent Natural Voice control.

At this year’s IAA MOBILITY, the Volkswagen brand is underlining its claim to offer mobility for everyone: VW is presenting four new models at the freely accessible event area in Munich city center. The open stand concept represents the brand’s approachability, invites visitors to explore and inspires the exchange of ideas. The Open Space will be open from Tuesday, September 9, through Sunday, September 14. Admission is free.

The sportiest electric Volkswagen to date: Start of pre-sales for the ID.3 GTX Performance

Volkswagen is upping the ante by launching a new, even sportier version of the ID.3 GTX. In addition to the ID.3 GTX, which delivers 210 kW (285 PS), the new ID.3 GTX Performance with 240 kW (326 PS) is now also available to order. This means that the electric compact sports car is equipped with Volkswagen’s most powerful electric drive motor. Both GTX versions effortlessly convert their power into traction on the rear axle. The body and chassis layout offers significant benefits here: with the new 79 kWh battery (net) located in the sandwich floor and precisely in the centre of the vehicle, this design offers a sporty low centre of gravity and ideal axle load distribution for driving dynamics and vehicle handling that guarantees plenty of fun.

The ID.3 product line is becoming more diverse: start of pre-sales for GTX, Pro and Pure models

Volkswagen is expanding its ID.3 range and is now offering three further versions: in addition to the new dynamic ID.3 GTX with an output of 210 kW (285 PS), the enhanced ID.3 Pro and the new entry-level ID.3 Pure are now available to order. They all feature the new software and infotainment generation with a 12.9-inch (32.8-centimetre) display and an improved operating concept. In addition, optional features such as the enhanced augmented reality head-up display, a redesigned Wellness app and the premium sound system from Harman Kardon are available. The battery sizes range from 79 kWh (net) in the ID.3 GTX to 59 kWh (net) in the ID.3 Pro to 52 kWh (net) in the new ID.3 Pure.

Volkswagen presents the world premiere of the sporty ID.3 GTX – the new flagship model in the product line. The ID.3 GTX is a powerhouse that is available with a choice of two different outputs, starting with the new high-efficiency drive in the 210 kW version (286 PS). The ID.3 GTX Performance with 240 kW2 (326 PS) brings even more power into play – the electric compact sports car therefore has the most powerful Volkswagen electric drive motor to date. Both GTX versions effortlessly convert their power into traction at the rear axle. The body and chassis layout offers significant benefits here: with the new 79 kWh battery (net) located in the sandwich floor and precisely in the centre of the vehicle, this design offers a sporty low centre of gravity and ideal axle load distribution. Visually, the GTX models are characterised by an individualised exterior and interior. The range of standard equipment has been expanded significantly. At the same time as the GTX debut, the product line will launch with a completely newly developed infotainment system generation.
