World premiere for the most powerful Golf: New R and R Variant launch with 245 kW (333 PS)
The Golf R and Golf R Variant are on the starting line: Volkswagen presents the two new top-of-the-range Golf models in a world premiere. They come with optimised driving dynamics, exclusive standard equipment and an output of 245 kW (333 PS). The new maximum output has increased by 10 kW (14 PS) compared with the predecessors of these models. The top speed of 250 km/h can be boosted by another 20 km/h to 270 km/h with the optional R-Performance package. This makes these two Golf R versions the world’s fastest Volkswagen production models, alongside the Arteon R Shooting Brake. Pre-sales start on 3 July in Germany. The Golf R will be available from €53,795, and from €55,065 as an estate (Golf R Variant). An additional option: the Golf R Black Edition, an exclusive all-black model available from €58,440. -
ChatGPT is now available in many Volkswagen models
Volkswagen models featuring the new-generation infotainment system are now also equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) of ChatGPT. The AI-based research tool is available in all new vehicles in the all-electric ID. family, as well as in the new Golf, new Tiguan and new Passat. It can be accessed using the IDA voice assistant and offers a range of new options that go far beyond the voice control previously available. For example, customers can now have search results read out to them, and can interact with the car using natural language. -

Volkswagen R is presenting its most powerful Golf models this month: the new Golf R and the new Golf R Variant. In addition to outstanding performance, the new Golf R models also impress visually: one highlight is the new 19-inch Warmenau forged wheel available as an option. -
Martin Sander appointed new Board Member for Sales, Marketing and After Sales at Volkswagen Passenger Cars
Martin Sander will become the new Board Member for Sales, Marketing and After Sales at Volkswagen Passenger Cars on July 1, 2024. He succeeds Imelda Labbé, who has headed the department for the past two years. Sander is moving from the Ford Motor Company to Wolfsburg and will report directly to Volkswagen CEO Thomas Schäfer. -

New ID.7 models: extremely dynamic GTX and a WLTP range of up to 709 kilometres with the ID.7 Pro S
Volkswagen is expanding its range of ID.7 models. The new ID.7 GTX – a fastback with 250 kW (340 PS) output and electric all-wheel drive – celebrates its world premiere first. Just two days later, on 6 June, pre-sales are scheduled to start in Germany at prices starting from 63,155 euros. Pre-sales of the ID.7 GTX Tourer (from 63,955 euros), ID.7 Pro S (from 58,985 euros) and ID.7 Tourer Pro S (from 59,785 euros) models presented in March will start at the same time. Like the ID.7 GTX, the 250-kW ID.7 GTX Tourer also has electric all-wheel drive. The rear-wheel drive models ID.7 Pro S and ID.7 Tourer Pro S develop a maximum output of 210 kW (286 PS). All four new ID.7 versions are equipped with an 86-kWh battery. -
50 years of Golf production: Volkswagen plant in Wolfsburg celebrates its bestseller
Wolfsburg and the Golf – a perfect combination for 50 years. Mass production of the first model generation began at Volkswagen’s main plant in spring 1974. This Monday, the company celebrated the anniversary with a ceremony under the motto “50 years of Golf production”. The guests gathered in Hall 12 of the Wolfsburg plant included employees from Golf production along with the brand Board of Management led by CEO Thomas Schäfer, representatives from the Group Board of Management, the Chair of the General and Group Works Council Daniela Cavallo and other leading Works Council members, as well as numerous representatives from the world of politics. Minister President Stephan Weil paid tribute to the outstanding achievements of the Volkswagen workforce and the economic significance of the Golf for the State of Lower Saxony and Germany as an industrial powerhouse. -

The new Golf GTI Clubsport celebrates its world premiere at the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring
The race gets underway with a world premiere. Germany’s largest motorsport event has already provided its first memorable moment: on Friday, as part of the legendary Nürburgring 24 Hours, the new Golf GTI Clubsport was presented to numerous fans. The sporty, optimised version of the classic model stands out thanks to its sharper exterior design, an enhanced interior, impressive performance data and high-end sports suspension. -

The ID.3 product line is becoming more diverse: start of pre-sales for GTX, Pro and Pure models
Volkswagen is expanding its ID.3 range and is now offering three further versions: in addition to the new dynamic ID.3 GTX with an output of 210 kW (285 PS), the enhanced ID.3 Pro and the new entry-level ID.3 Pure are now available to order. They all feature the new software and infotainment generation with a 12.9-inch (32.8-centimetre) display and an improved operating concept. In addition, optional features such as the enhanced augmented reality head-up display, a redesigned Wellness app and the premium sound system from Harman Kardon are available. The battery sizes range from 79 kWh (net) in the ID.3 GTX to 59 kWh (net) in the ID.3 Pro to 52 kWh (net) in the new ID.3 Pure. -
New Tiguan awarded 5 stars in current Euro NCAP safety assessment
Euro NCAP, the renowned European consumer protection programme, has awarded the new Tiguan the highest rating of five stars for safety. This means the third generation of the best-selling model is officially one of the safest vehicles in its class. The Volkswagen scored particularly well in the category of child occupant protection. This rating is all the more important as the Tiguan, which has sold well over 7.6 million units, is an ideal all-rounder for families. -

Volkswagen celebrates the world premiere of the Golf GTI Clubsport at the Nürburgring 24 Hours race
The countdown for Germany’s largest motorsport event has started: the legendary ADAC 24-hour race will start at the Nürburgring on 1 June, with more than 200,000 spectators expected. This time, the event will also be a stage for the most successful European car of all time: the Golf. Volkswagen is celebrating the icon’s 50th birthday at the Nürburgring. And this celebration will be quite impressive: Volkswagen is presenting the new Golf GTI Clubsport with powerful drive and high-end sports suspension to visitors as a world premiere. The second highlight is the participation of the Golf GTI Clubsport 24h in the 24-hour race. The one-off GTI with an output of 256 kW / 348 PS will be driven by motorsport stars such as Benny Leuchter (Germany) and Johan Kristoffersson (Sweden). The starting number of the GTI race car powered by alternative fuel: the number 50, of course – a birthday gift from the organiser for half a century of the Golf success story. In addition, as a tribute to the more than 37 million Golf vehicles built to date, three classic Golf GTIs will take part in the ADAC 24h Classic race.
