Terms of Use for Historic Images

For your intended use of historic images, we conclude the following agreement:

We point out that the Volkswagen Group archive does not have the full rights of use for the photo motifs you have requested, so you as a customer are responsible for their use under copyright law.

We agree to the one-off use of the selected historical photos free of charge for the purpose of supplying media representatives if a picture credit “Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft” is provided. All existing image rights remain with Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft.

This approval is subject to the condition that you do not manipulate these images when reproducing them.

Passing on to third parties is prohibited. If it is established that you exceed this consent granted by Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft, then Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft shall be entitled to withdraw it at any time.

Finally, we would like to point out once again that Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft cannot assume any guarantee for the ownership of the full usage rights to these images. This means that recourse against Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft due to a possible claim by a third party is excluded.

The specified fuel consumption and emission data does not refer to a single vehicle and is not part of the offer but is only intended for comparison between different types of vehicles. Additional equipment and accessories (additional components, tyre formats, etc.) can alter relevant vehicle parameters such as weight, rolling resistance and aerodynamics, affecting the vehicle's fuel consumption, power consumption, CO2 emissions and driving performance values in addition to weather and traffic conditions and individual driving behavior.
