New design, innovative technologies and fast development: Volkswagen sets out to delight customers in China
Volkswagen is systematically forging ahead with its “in China, for China” strategy. The goal is even closer alignment with the specific requirements of customers in the world’s largest auto market and to provide them with a convincing product offering in all relevant segments. The ID. CODE design show car that celebrates its world premiere this week at the Auto China 24 trade fair in Beijing (from April 25 to May 4, 2024) bears witness to this systematic orientation to the wishes of Chinese customers. The concept car’s aesthetics are completely new and give a preview of a large electric SUV. The ID. CODE is designed for Level 4 fully autonomous driving. The new progressive ID.UX sub-brand also plays a key role in terms of Volkswagen’s profile in the Chinese market. With all-electric, lifestyle-oriented models, this sub-brand is designed to appeal to younger customers in particular. -
Tickets for the big GTI Fanfest go on sale
Less than four month to go until the big GTI party takes place, from 26-28 July. For the first time, the legendary GTI meetup will be held at locations around the Volkswagen Arena in Wolfsburg, and the theme will be Icons Coming Home. All information on advance ticket sales can now be found on www.volkswagen.de/gtifanfest, with one-day passes costing €19.76 and three-day VIP tickets available for €119.76. A limited number of Experience Tickets are also available, and include a 150-minute driving experience in a series of performance Volkswagen models at the testing facility in Ehra near Wolfsburg. More details about the meet-up can be found on the event website, where information will continually be updated. In addition to car displays, stage shows and club meets, many more activities and surprises lay in store for GTI and Volkswagen enthusiasts and their families. Admission is free for under-18s. -
Save the date: Legendary GTI Meeting to be held in Wolfsburg from July 26 – 28, 2024
Under the motto “Coming Home – Reloaded”, Wolfsburg will become the new home for the GTI fan community next summer: The legendary meetup will take place in the vicinity of the VfL Wolfsburg stadium from July 26 – 28, 2024 and will be organized in cooperation with the Autostadt. In addition to vehicle presentations, stage shows and club meets, there will be many other activities and surprises for GTI enthusiasts.

The new ID. CODE - World premiere
With the world premiere of the ID. CODE at Auto China 2024 in Beijing, Volkswagen is providing a first glimpse of a completely new SUV generation, a new design language for China and a new technology generation. The concept car was developed specifically for Volkswagen customers in China. With the ID. CODE, Volkswagen is interpreting SUV design in a completely new way and enriching it with fascinatingly superior dynamics in the age of electric mobility. With its powerful, clear and fluid surfaces, the ID. CODE comes across more like a Gran Turismo than a five-metre class SUV. The exterior is also a projection surface for the next generation of AI-assisted lighting and display systems – intuitively usable interfaces for intelligent communication between man and machine. The newly designed living space on board the ID. CODE fits perfectly into this picture – here, the real and virtual worlds combine to create a new mobility experience. The electrically powered concept car can be driven conventionally and also used autonomously at Level 4. The ID. CODE offers a more fascinating experience than ever before – it interacts with the driver, passengers and surroundings so that life with this Volkswagen becomes a completely new automotive adventure. -
The new ID. GTI Concept - World premiere
GTI – for decades now, this name has stood for compact sports cars from Volkswagen. Golf GTI, Scirocco GTi, Polo GTI, up! GTI. Icons. Volkswagen is now catapulting GTI DNA into the age of electric mobility with the new ID. GTI Concept. The world premiere of this electrifying concept vehicle will take place during this year’s IAA Mobility in Munich (5 to 9 September 2023) – exactly 48 years after the worldwide debut of the first Golf GTI at the IAA in Frankfurt. The ID. GTI Concept is based on the ID. 2all presented in March – a future electric compact car that costs around 25,000 euros and which has generated worldwide attention. Its front-wheel drive, clear design and powerful proportions make it the perfect starting point for a new GTI. Volkswagen Head of Design Andreas Mindt already also had the sporty derivative in mind when he produced the first sketches for the ID. 2all. And just like the ID. 2all, the ID. GTI Concept is more than just a show car – it is the first glimpse of the exciting GTI future because its series development has already been decided. -
World premiere of the ID. 2all concept: the electric car from Volkswagen costing less than 25,000 euros
The Volkswagen brand is continuing the success story of its compact cars in the age of electric mobility and is providing a first glimpse of an all-electric Volkswagen costing less than 25,000 euros with the ID. 2all concept vehicle. Initial facts: front-wheel drive, range of up to 450 kilometres, innovative technological features such as Travel Assist, IQ.LIGHT or Electric Vehicle Route Planner and a new Volkswagen design language. The production version will be based on the MEB Entry platform and is one of ten new electric models that Volkswagen will launch by 2026.
