    Volkswagen Group soon to have autonomous parking ready for series vehicles

    Using what is to date unique technology, the Volkswagen Group is currently testing autonomous parking at Hamburg Airport: based on a car park map the Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche vehicles navigate their way to a parking space on their own. Orientation is provided for them by simple pictorial markers installed in the multi-storey car park. Its advantage: this can be used in essentially any car park. The function is set to be available for the first customers in selected multi-storey car parks from the start of the next decade.

    Volkswagen and IBM develop digital mobility services together

    Volkswagen and IBM today announced that they intend to develop digital mobility services together. Jürgen Stackmann, Member of the Board of Management of the Volkswagen brand responsible for Sales, says: "The objective of the agreement between Volkswagen and IBM, which has initially been concluded for a term of five years, is the development of personalized digital services for the driver, with a view to actively shaping the growing trend towards networking between vehicles and drivers."

    True to the slogan "We are always on." Volkswagen is enabling visitors to experience its ideas about the mobility of tomorrow at this year's Consumer Electronics Show (CES). In the age of digitalisation, it diverges from the classic relationship between customer and car to a new mobile community – intelligently connected and sustainably transported.The focus is on connected individual users and their personal digital preferences. On a digital platform – the Volkswagen Ecosystem – visitors have an opportunity to configure personal settings and services conveniently with their own Volkswagen User-ID and take them along wherever they wish, independent of a specific vehicle. Show visitors can fully experience the innovative functions of the Volkswagen Ecosystem live. In addition, the company is presenting the next milestones of intuitive user operation with its Volkswagen Digital Cockpit (3D), Eyetracking and AR Head-up Display. All of these features culminate in the ID., a vehicle concept for a new era. It combines the digitally connected world with an electrically powered car that can drive fully autonomous, if desired. This unifies the Volkswagen innovation fields of Connected Community, Intuitive Usability, Smart Sustainability and Automated Driving.

    The Volkswagen brand at CES 2017: Interactive Volkswagen APP is the key to a personalised digital experience at CES 2017

    Volkswagen is bringing a special APP to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas (5th to 8th of January, 2017), with which show visitors can experience the future interactively – and is launching it in stores. It is now available for download in the App Store (iOS) and at Google Play (Android). Visitors can use the show app at the Volkswagen booth to immerse themselves in the future and experience how human, car and environment will, in the future, be intelligently interconnected in the Volkswagen Ecosystem via the Volkswagen User-ID.
