Baking cookies together, decorating the Christmas tree and strolling across the Christmas market – during the holiday season the excitement rises on a daily basis in the run up to Christmas. But not everyone can look forward to Christmas due to illness or financial hardships. That is why it has been a tradition at Volkswagen Group Components for four years now to give these people a little joy during the holiday season. This year, the employees of Volkswagen Group Components are meeting the Christmas wishes of needy or sick children and senior citizens. Colleagues at the central divisions in Wolfsburg, as well as at German and Polish component locations from Braunschweig to Poznań collect Christmas wishes from various social institutions.
The Components division fulfils more than 900 Christmas wishes
The wishes for the Wolfsburg trees came this year from young people from supervised housing facilities of the Christian Youth Village Germany (CJD), senior citizens living in Diakonie (Social Services organization) retirement homes, as well as child refugees. The vouchers for the therapeutic horse riding at the horse educational stables in Braunschweig, go to the children of the Trostinsel and the families of the outpatient children, and youth hospice work in Wolfsburg.
