“Sure, sometimes the boys made comments,” says Jane Rusch. “Things like ‘You girls can’t do this.’ But then they tried it themselves and they didn’t manage it either.” She and her colleague Pia Rzepka, laugh. “We’re the same in terms of abilities and skills, and here at Volkswagen we’re treated the same as the boys – naturally,” says Pia.

Jane Rusch and Pia Rzepka are both 19 years old and in their third year of training to become mechatronics engineers at Volkswagen. They are organizing the Girls’Day for their department and explain to us why this day is so important.
