Montag, 9.30 a.m., Tor Sandkamp at Volkswagen's main plant in Wolfsburg: "My T1 and my Käfer have goosebumps!" Carsten Gregersen from Copenhagen calls out at the factory gate. He doesn't wait for the puzzled Volkswagen employee to ask the obvious question: with a smile, the 47-year-old rolls up the sleeve of his sweater instead, uncovering the tattoos on both forearms – of the T1 and the Käfer, of course. Now that is real enthusiasm!
At the beginning of the week the Dane visited the main plant in Wolfsburg together with around 30 other Volkswagen fans. What was special about the visit? The travelers from the UK, Denmark and Australia and their 16 historic Käfer and Volkswagen T1 were given permission to enter the plant via the Sandkamp security checkpoint. After a stop for photos in front of the brand tower, the classic cars parked between entrance 15 and 16, directly opposite Volkswagen Visitors' Service.
