A birthday should be duly celebrated. And not just for a dear person, but also for a four-wheeled companion. Especially when it does such a fine job of simplifying life for its driver and passengers as does the Touran. That’s why the Touran Club e.V. celebrated the fifteenth anniversary of the club and the car last weekend. Wolfsburg, home of the compact van, was the venue of the double celebration. In addition to a technical lecture, a visit to the AutoMuseum Foundation and the Autostadt, the programme also included a convoy through Wolfsburg.
Fifteen years of loyalty
The Touran Club visits Wolfsburg
Lecture in the AutoMuseum Foundation
The remaining club members arrived punctually for the first event on the programme. Eberhard Kittler, the Chairman of the Wolfsburg AutoMuseum Foundation, was especially enthusiastic about the first visit of a Touran fan club to the Volkswagen Brand Museum. Surrounded by historic exhibit vehicles, he welcomed his guests, introduced the museum and then invited Piotr Mitka to speak. The representative of Compact Derivatives Product Marketing provided an insight into the continuing development of the current model generation.
Conclusion of the event at Autostadt
To round off the day, the Touran Club moved on to the Autostadt, where the participants were met with the multifaceted “Cirque Nouveau” summer show as well as the brand pavilions. Amidst the acrobatic performances, the Touranites shared their experiences over the last few days, talked shop and planned a joint barbecue under a sky of shooting stars.
Equipped with great vibes, walkie-talkies and small national flags for better identification, the Touran Club embarked on their journey through Wolfsburg. The cars from all over Germany travelled on country roads to the first brief break at Wolfsburg Castle. The drive continued over the main city bridge, past the Volkswagen Arena on the left and the Autostadt on the right, to a pit stop for a group picture. Visibly pleased, the Chair of the Touran Club summed up: “It is just great that the Touran still endures today” and added, “The Touran and our club have belonged together from the start, which is why we are proud and happy to be able to celebrate this anniversary in Wolfsburg.”
The Touran Club e.V. currently has 128 members, including members in China and Japan. Further information at: www.touran-club.de.
