Volkswagen recently presented a strong result for the first half of the year, so why it is necessary to make changes in production?
Like the entire automotive industry, the Volkswagen brand is facing huge challenges. We have made a lot of progress with our TRANSFORM 2025+ corporate strategy and the Pact for the Future, but it is not enough. We need to generate competitive returns long term to finance the enormous investments that will have to be made in electric mobility, autonomous driving, new mobility services and digitalization. We need to intensify our efforts and leverage efficiency reserves. Production, being the core of value creation, will play a significant part here.
