Volkswagen CEO Dr. Herbert Diess and Green party leader Robert Habeck have spoken out for both politics and business to promote electric mobility. “We need clarity. We must consistently focus on e-mobility if we still want to achieve our climate goals,” Habeck said in a joint interview with the German daily newspaper DIE WELT. “Time is running out for us. That is why I am in favour of a clear strategic decision.” Diess added: “Where political support is involved, we should give priority to electric mobility, for pragmatic reasons.” According to him, the development of different charging infrastructures for several technologies would be too costly. "All the indicators suggest that e-mobility is the most efficient alternative technology in the short and medium term. The aim is to achieve the climate goals that have been set. To do this, we must act purposefully, now" Diess said.
