In spectacular fashion, the Volkswagen brand presented its latest models for the most important e-mobility market at the end of November at the largest Chinese auto show in Guangzhou. One thing became very clear: The future of the brand is electric, fully connected and balance sheet CO2 neutral. With a spectacular portfolio of over 30 models, Volkswagen impressed not only experts but also interested customers. The Viloran and the CC Shooting Brake, among others, made a sparkling appearance. A particular highlight was the Touareg Plug-in Hybrid – with the electrification of its flagship model, the brand is setting a new milestone in terms of e-mobility and the future. The ID.4 brought double joy: The world car is being launched in China in two versions: as ID.4 X and ID.4 CROZZ.

Volkswagen steps up e-offensive in China
Volkswagen has moved another step closer towards its goal of becoming the market leading brand in the field of electromobility, and not just by participating in the Guangzhou Auto Show: Volkswagen opens a new research and development center for e-mobility in China. As a first step, a new research and development center was inaugurated at the Hefei site in December. In addition to the e-mobility hub, Volkswagen is also aiming to establish a digital hub in Anhui. It is intended to support Volkswagen’s activities in the areas of connectivity and digital services. Furthermore, by expanding its position at JAC Volkswagen, the company can further develop the joint venture and thus take the next step in its electrification strategy in China.
