Stackmann is particularly looking forward to the top model in the range, the Arteon R, which is also available as a Fastback and Shooting Brake. He praises the four-wheel drive, the variable power distribution and the sporty performance. With its spaciousness, the car is “always a wonderful long-distance travelling companion,” he says.
“A wonderful long-distance travelling companion”
Coinciding with the world premiere there is a lot of praise for the new Arteon and the new Arteon Shooting Brake. Those fans include Jürgen Stackmann, Member of the Board of Management of the Volkswagen brand responsible for Sales, and Klaus Zyciora, Head of Volkswagen Group Design. With the Fastback and Shooting Brake there will be two versions of the Arteon in future. The entire series will receive a comprehensive technical update.
“The Arteon and the Arteon Shooting Brake unite seemingly irreconcilable opposites. Functionality, practicality and ultimate elegance,” says Zyciora. It is precisely this symbiosis that is the aim of the design. “And for Volkswagen a breakthrough into a new segment.”
Linda Lohnstein works in quality assurance at the Emden plant – and is also looking forward to the new models. “The new Arteon has a completely unique and exclusive interior with many possibilities for individualization. A special highlight is the ambient lighting, which is equipped with new lighting technology,” says Lohnstein.
Also new in the interior are the wireless integration of apps via “App-Connect Wireless” for “Apple CarPlay” and “Android Auto” (Google) as well as a 700-watt high-end sound system from the audio specialist harman/kardon, which was specially tailored to the Arteon and Arteon Shooting Brake (both optional). The usability of the car is made easier by touch sliders for the automatic air conditioning and a new multifunction steering wheel with touch surfaces.
