New Tiguan now in German Volkswagen dealerships
The new Tiguan will be in Volkswagen dealership showrooms from this weekend. The latest version of the successful compact SUV impresses with a new design, great comfort, first-class handling and all-round connectivity. Prices for the new Tiguan start from €25,975.
The new Tiguan is the first SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle) based on the Modular Transverse Matrix (MQB). Equipped with numerous driver assistance and safety systems, it simultaneously offers an outstanding amount of space and variable possibilities for use.
With the new 4MOTION Active Control, the SUV guarantees supreme traction and huge driving fun – in all situations and on all surfaces. Using this, drivers tailor the vehicle to their individual needs. Especially in combination with the optionally available dynamic chassis control (DCC) and progressive steering, it facilitates both excellent handling and great comfort. In terms of safety too, Volkswagen is using strictly premium technology: the safety package includes Front Assist with City Emergency Braking function and Pedestrian Monitoring, Lane Assist, proactive occupant protection and an active front bonnet for the protection of pedestrians and cyclists.
The optional package of Media Control app and App Connect ensure optimum connectively with smartphone or tablet – all occupants are thus always online. An inductive charging function for smartphones rounds of the package of convenient features.
Ground clearance of 20 centimetres on the all-wheel drive versions and the optional off-road front with 25-degree slope clearance make the multi-talented vehicle a serene companion on rugged terrain as well. In Europe the Tiguan therefore officially has type approval as an off-road vehicle, which is also able to tow trailers weighing up to 2.5 tonnes. Among compact SUVs it is therefore best in class in terms of towing load.
The new Tiguan won numerous awards as soon as it was unveiled: back in November 2015 the new SUV was already picking up its first award the 'Auto Trophy 2015', voted for by readers of trade journal 'Auto Zeitung' in an international poll. In addition to the title 'All-wheel Car of the Year 2016' (in the off-road vehicle and SUV category up to €30,000) awarded by trade journal 'Auto Bild allrad', the compact SUV also won the 'Plus X Award' innovation prize for 'High Quality, Design, Ease of Use and Functionality'. Furthermore the international iF jury honoured the new Tiguan's design with the 'iF Design Award 2016', regarded as one of the world's most important design prizes.
