The Chinese Magotan is a sibling of the European Passat with a longer wheelbase. The latest version of the sedan launched at Auto China in Beijing in 2016 is therefore based on the modular transverse toolkit (MQB). The advantages of the MQB include dynamic proportions, a spacious interior, efficient TSI engines (110 kW / 150 PS to 162 kW / 220 PS) and a wide range of 10 innovative assistance and convenience systems. As the Magotan is often used as a chauffeur-driven limousine, the equipment includes a separate climate control system for the rear and a “boss button” which can be used to adjust the passenger’s seat from the rear.
