With more than 17.5 million units produced (including derivatives), the Jetta is one of Volkswagen’s most successful models. The seventh generation was launched in the USA in 2018. For the first time, this Jetta is based on the modular transverse toolkit (MQB). The advantages include more dynamic proportions, more progressive design, more spacious interior, higher efficiency, innovative assistance systems and, optionally, a largely digitalized interior. The Jetta is also a best-seller in the USA. To date, more than 3.2 million units have been delivered in North America. The Jetta has also been handed over to millions of customers in China under a variety of model names. In China, the Jetta is offered as an entirely independent model not derived from the US version, and is regarded as a Volkswagen icon.
