It all began when several ambitious apprentices had the idea to transform the Golf 5 into a real eye-catcher. However, executives soon decided that it would be a sin not to turn this into a special series. At the end of 2005, the Golf Speed came into being: each of the 100 Yellow Speed and Orange Speed models were commissioned, given a striking coat of paint and adorned with several R32 extras. How well do you know this rare series?
A. You must mean the great Bugatti colours and the double windscreen wipers on the rear window?
B. Doesn’t the paint come from the shelves of Lamborghini, and the car doesn’t even have rear windscreen wipers?
C. The colours were developed by Bentley in 1998, but they were never used because they were too bright. The Golf was allowed to have both the colours but only the yellow version had rear windscreen wipers.
